The discovery of online journalism by newspaper industries is a great aspect of making news intresting.As a matter of facts,the use of media interactivity;the process of using the combination of texts,audio,animations,images graphs,videos e.t.c.in a story is the best way newspaper industries attract readers to a particular story.When all these media are use,it consistently make readers get more information about a topic and are to post their opinion and comment on what they have read.
In a visit to a foreign news industry,the Britain Broadcasting corporation News(BBC) website,we see that images and videos are used to make stories more colourful.Taking a look on the story published on the 4th of january 2010 about the assassination of one of the top Pakistan Governor, Salman Taseer ‘Top Pakistan Governor Assassinated’,the use of multimedia and interactivity was highly effective.The pictures of his dead body being carried was put and many other pictures he took before his death to make the story more attractive to readers.Although more of the pictures are a view in another page only after clicking on ‘in picture’ at the ‘related stories column’ in the page you have the story written.It gives room for viewing the slide show of the pictures and it can also be viewed largely.Extracting from the page view;

In addition to making the readers interested in reading more about the assassination the video on how he was assassinated is seen on the page the story is written.The BBC News allow readers to receive news on their mobile phones,podcast,iPods, uses news widget and alert ,graphs e.t.c.just to make publish news more colourful and interesting.
Never the less, in a visit to punch news online,there is the presence of multimedia and interactivity with the use images .For instance,the story published on the 6th of january 2011 by Francis Falola ‘The Young cobbler’ has the picture of a boy who is about the age of ten.In the picture the boy carries a cobblers tools box;he uses his earnings to sponsor himself in school.This picture alone attracts readers to the story.View; 
Another multimedia use by punch is videos that readers use to get their on thought on what they have read.Like the video that is use to talk about the Lawmakers attitude in the house of representatives which was gotten initially from youtube. ‘Lawmakers in free-for all fight’ is an interesting one to make the write-up colourful.View video;http://www.youtube.com/user/nigerianwebradio#p/a/u/0/EeS102JrTvA%5D
Having studied the two news website,we deduce that;
1.The two website uses interactivity and multimedia like images and videos.
2.The images and videos use by the two are relevant to what ever story that is discuss.
3.BBC News uses lots of multimedia while Punch news uses just images and videos.
4.The images view on the BBC News website gave room for slide shows,enlargement e.t.c.while the other do not.
5.Video use in www.bbc.co.uk/news/ are directly shot and post on the website but Punch news gets its video from other websites like youtube.
We conclude by saying the Foreign news website make use of more multimedia and interactivity to tell it story and it makes them look real but we believe that the Nigeria news website can do much better if skills are develop and put to work.We the nearest future mass communicators hope to develop the Nigeria news website by taking it to the next level in the use of interactivity and multimedia.
Online journalism is a process that has been in use for the past years by newspapers industries,journalist e.t.c.to report facts produced and distributed through the internet.It has been noticed that people no longer buy the printed out newspapers except they want to keep it for reference purposes but the internet users sees it has a readily available and less costly network.
The internet makes news more interesting because of the interactivity and multimedia like videos,audios e.t.c. that are used.The online news organization is increasingly gloomy about its financial future and online journalist are optimistic,reporting expanding newsroom.
The internet has challenged traditional news industries in several ways to say that there is the fear that it might lose its contents to websites.
The internet is a worldwide system of computer networks which was conceived in 1969 by The Advance Research Project Agency (ARPA) of the U.S. government .It was created with the aim of creating a network that allows researchers at one university ;communicate with their counterparts at other universities.
The internet which comprises of thousand of smaller regional networks scattered throughout the globe allows communication to take place between connected computers and online users.
Today,the internet is a public,cooperated and self-sustaining facility,accessible to billions of people worldwide.What distinguishes it from other telecommunication network is its use of a set of protocol called TCP and ICP (Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Control Protocol).The internet which literally means ‘network of networks’ is use for the following:
1.INFORMATION;The internet provide its users with messages ranging from job vacancies to current affairs and many more.
2.ENTERTAINMENT;It has interesting games, movies e.t.c. that are stored to entertain its users worldwide.
3.SOCIALIZATION;The internet aid social interaction between relatives,friends e.t.c.
4.EDUCATION;It develop the academic skills of learners through the educational books,tapes e.t.c. that are store.
5.ADVERTISMENT;The internet aid business activities because most business enterprises now store information about its product,diagram e.t.c.and buyers can bulk for product by using electronic fund transfer (ETF) to pay for goods purchased.
In conclusion,the internet has develop the globe in no little measure through its uses and this makes communication has easy as possible.
